r3d.bar goes live

Bought the domain. Connected Cloudflare. Deployed from GitHub. Auto-deploy on push to main. The whole thing took one Claude Code session.

First green bar for the site itself.

Why this exists

I’ve been building things with AI for a while now — Transcripted, Draft, a bunch of experiments that didn’t go anywhere. And I kept noticing something: the only useful signal came from the failures.

The pricing test that got zero conversions taught me more about what I’m building than any successful feature. The onboarding flow that 88% of users abandoned told me exactly where to look. The things that didn’t work pointed directly at the things that would.

So I wanted a place to track that. Not a polished portfolio. Not a highlights reel. A log — honest, specific, time-stamped. Red bars and green bars, in the order they actually happened.

The format

Two types of entries:

Red bars — experiments that failed, things that didn’t work, wrong turns. These are the most valuable ones. A red bar with a clear takeaway is worth more than a green bar with no explanation.

Green bars — breakthroughs. Not just wins — moments where something clicked, where the data said it’s working, where the pattern became clear.

The goal isn’t to look smart. The goal is to iterate fast enough to find what works. And you can’t do that if you’re pretending the failures didn’t happen.

What’s next

Two products live: Transcripted (local meeting recorder) and Draft (voice-to-text with personal AI voice). Both in beta. Both generating useful red bars.

I’ll log everything here as it happens. Subscribe via RSS if you want the unfiltered version.
